Backpacking on the Pinhoti Trail

Last weekend we went backpacking in north Alabama about an hour out of Birmingham.
Wilf, Janelle and Maria had found a nice trail for backpacking and asked if we would like to join them. Since we knew that's the kind of thing Todd, Janell and Eric enjoy we asked them to come along.
We met at the camp site on the trail head Friday night, to start our backpacking trip the next morning. That night after setting up our tent in the dark and warming up at the fire we crawled into our tent. The temperature that night dropped down to about 3C and I was freezing and saying my goodbyes while everybody else (as they claimed the next morning) was nice and toasty that night.
The next morning we packed our tents and set out on the trail.

We hiked about 8 miles round trip, 4 miles each day.
Todd spied out a nice place to camp, away from the trail and close to a little stream, where we stayed Saturday night.
