To Vienna

We boarded the plane to Vienna without causing any more major crises.

However, we were a little alarmed to see this illustration on the aircraft safety card and decided not to follow that particular step:

Sunrise over England:

Crossing the English Channel at Dunkirk (hi, Brina):

The Mosel River valley, filled with early-morning fog:

Another enchanted valley:

A snowy German village:

The Alps:

Welcome to Vienna:

Our flight arrived an hour late, so we didn't have the three hours in Vienna I had been hoping for. My plan was to take the fast train into town, run to St. Stephen's Cathedral, climb the 343 steps to the top of the south tower to look out over Vienna, and then dash back to the airport in plenty of time for the flight to Berlin. Not everyone agreed it was a wise plan for a three-hour layover, but with only two hours, even I realized it was futile to attempt it. We switched to the backup plan of finding a little airport cafe next to a wireless networking hotspot and posting to this web site.

Onward to Berlin!

  1. Cool photos! Thanks for taking the time out of your busy travel schedule to post them for the rest of us to enjoy.

We're headed down to Jasper for Christmas, and will take our new bikes to ride around on the mountain... Should be lots of fun. I'll be sure and post photos of our exciting adventures. :)

Hope you guys have a great Christmas & New Years.

  2. Do you think it's possible--just maybe--that you were looking at the safety card upside down? :)

As for the rest of the pictures, it's hard to take good pictures through airliner windows. You got some nice ones, though. Good job!
