He didn't seem to be afraid but rather looked around with interest. A little later he started hopping around and taking over my side of the flower pot (where I water).

I think that's the one that hatched first (several days early.) And he's quite big already, right? Cuckoos lay an egg in another bird's nest, and then abandon it to be tended by the other bird.
