On December 27 we went to visit my Aunt Gabi and Uncle Andy in Hannover, almost 4 hours away from Berlin.
For you Americans who are complaining about gas prices in the States, here is what we paid for a tank of gas for our little Nissan in Germany. 50 Euros is about $75.
Shortly after we arrived Aunt Gabi, my cousin Sabrina and her boyfriend Rüdiger took us on a tour in downtown Hannover.

Yes, I always have to smile when people in the U.S. complain about gas prices. It costs us about 40 euros to fill up, so a recent trip down to Collonges and back cost us (or ADRA, rather) about 200 euros in gas (not to mention the tollroad costs of 100 euros round-trip--almost all highways are toll here; the idea, I have concluded, is most assuredly to discourage people from driving. So you have to be sure to live very close to friends and family in Europe if you expect to see them frequently.)
