Lunch at a Chinese restaurant
Kristin's family rented a van, so that all six of us could get around in one vehicle for the Christmas holidays. The first thing we did with it was go to a Chinese restaurant for lunch on Weihnachten, the 24th of December. I got to drink "kiba" for the first time, which is cherry juice mixed with banana juice ("kiba" is short for kirsch-banane in German), and it both tastes and looks very nice. Kristin's mom brought Kinder Überraschung eggs for everyone, and those are always entertaining. Mine had a little red car inside that required assembly, which is the best part.
In the evening, we walked to the nearby Gethsemane Church for a Christmas program. The church was crowded, and there was barely any room to stand. We were up on the first balcony, and it was dark and hard to get pictures. The program was nice. The kids were cute (one of the sheep got into a wrestling match with a couple shepherds near the end of the program, and they had to be separated), and it was great to be in such an old church singing German Christmas songs accompanied by a pipe organ.

Then we all went back to the apartment and opened our Christmas presents.
